Project VOTE (Voice Of The Electorate) was born in
Spring of 2002 when an active member of the Leadership Green Bay Alumni network, Glen Tilot, decided that declining voter
turnout in
Brown
County
needed to be addressed. Glen invited fellow alumni to join him in an ongoing
effort to remind eligible voters that the voice of the electorate needs and
deserves to be heard.
A non-partisan, volunteer organization,
Project VOTE is dedicated to increasing voter turnout in
Brown
County.
As an issue-neutral, non-partisan
organization, Project VOTE does not endorse political parties, candidates, or
issues.
Project VOTE volunteers represent a
unique blend of community leaders. Founding members include Leadership Green
Bay Alumni, city and county officials, the League of Women Voters, KidsVoting, UWGB and leading area businesses.
As a volunteer-based group, Project VOTE
relies solely on in-kind donations and sponsorships to support its
get-out-the-vote efforts.
Several
Brown
County
businesses are already lending their support to Project VOTE, including:
•
Wisconsin
Public Service •
St.
Vincent
Hospital
•
Wells Fargo Bank • The Goltz
